Janet Nielsen, M.Ed., CCC, C.Hyp  

My story with psychedelic medicine  began 38 years ago. I have been using this type of medicine both recreationally and therapeutically and was a guide long before I understood what this meant. During my undergrad and Masters program, I was introduced to this type of work from a therapeutic lens, which ignited my passion for psychedelic psychotherapy medicine work. 

I have had the chance to explore different psychedelic landscapes, exploring different medicines and their healing properties. I have been blessed to be able to engage in deep healing work with other trained therapists during my own psychedelic medicine sessions. I am not just a therapist but a psychonaut researcher who explores and maps psychedelic territories which heals deep wounds, traumas, and patterns! 

My work with plant medicines and my clients have shown me their vast therapeutic  potential. I have realized that psychedelics allow for connection to the innate healing intelligence of one’s body, mind, and spirit. I work collaboratively with my clients, helping them prepare, navigate, and integrate their psychedelic experiences. I have witnessed my clients heal at the root cause of their ailments, whether that be physical, cognitive, spiritual, emotional, or a combination of these.

I studied and wrote my master’s theses on the healing and transformative capacities of psychedelics and near death experiences to overcome the fear of dying..

Janet has been doing her own personal work with plant medicine for over thirty years and works with clients in plant medicine to allow for healing from the inside out. She has worked with many clients in relation to grief and loss, death and dying, and completed her death doula certification in October 2019. She considers this work to be sacred, allowing her to support clients and their families as their lives come to a close.
