As we grow older, we become more skilled in hiding our emotions, thinking that suppressing the flow of energy in our body and burying the feelings can help us live the best life. But the truth is, we need to process and convert emotions to rediscover our true selves. Brittany Bannerman is a licensed and certified counselor, hypnotherapist, and emotional alchemist. Her personal emotional health experience drew her to discover a new career level and transform her life with clarity, courage, and emotional safety within her soul. Brittany is now passionate about educating and supporting women in processing their emotions and cultivating a safe space with emotional alchemy.
Today, Hillary and Brittany talk about the emotional health of women. They discuss the way people medicalize women’s emotions and how emotional alchemy can help process suppressed emotions and clear them out to make space for our true selves. She will guide us in finding our best selves!
Brittany is a professional and licensed counsellor as well as trained in clinical counselling hypnotherapy She is a wealth of information and breaks barriers of both assumptions and preconceptions while nurturing our entire experience of all emotions so we can move towards living as our true and whole selves. Brittany is passionate about offering support and integration for those who have experienced spiritual emergencies and exceptional human experiences (awakening experiences, mystical and transcendent experiences, near-death experiences, and post-psychedelic experiences). She has extensively lived with chronic illness and pain (i.e., endometriosis & adenomyosis), which has inspired her to walk others through similar journeys.
Take aways from the talk: We define alchemy, differentiate feelings from emotions. Women's Emotional Health is often dismissed. When we clear out and make space for the negative/bad emotions fear, sadness, grief, anger, shame, and disgust - we can then feel more joy, contentment, surprise, and ecstasy. We can move from emotionally reactive to responsive. Therapists listen with and provide clarity, courage, compassion, curiosity, and non-judgment.
